Looking for the perfect coffee-shop finish to your iced coffee at home? Whip up this luxurious vanilla sweet cream cold foam!

As much as I love cruising through the Starbucks drive-thru, I’ll admit that going there on a regular basis gets kind of expensive.

The other day I discovered that a single slice of pumpkin loaf costs almost $4 at Starbucks. But I can an entire batch of my pumpkin bread – which makes 2 whole loaves – for less than $7.50.

You get where I’m going? Those green cups are a great treat, but not a daily habit for me.

So instead, I like finding ways to make some of my coffee-shop favorites at home. And if you like iced coffees as much as I do, this vanilla sweet cream cold brew is a must-try.

WHAT IS VANILLA SWEET CREAM COLD FOAM?

If you’re an iced coffee lover and you haven’t explored the world of cold foam yet, this should be your sign to start.

You know how cappuccinos have that thick layer of steamed milk foam? Even hot lattes have a bit of foam on top. But iced coffee drinks traditionally just get cold milk and that’s it.

But cold foam is literally what it sounds like – foam made from a combination of cold milk and cream. It adds that luxurious foamy texture to your cold drinks, just like you’d get on hot drinks.

So what is vanilla sweet cream cold foam? It’s a cold foam that is flavored with vanilla syrup. Each sip of your drink gives you some of that sweet vanilla flavor along with the light texture of the foam.

Honestly, it feels so decadent. And the great news? It’s so much easier to make than you think.

HOW TO MAKE VANILLA SWEET CREAM COLD FOAM

If you want to bring the coffee shop home and make your own vanilla sweet cream cold foam, I’ve got you covered. It’s so easy that you may just find yourself making it every day!

What you’ll need

You only need 3 ingredients and 1 key piece of equipment to make this recipe.

For one serving of this cold foam, you will need:

Ingredients for vanilla sweet cream cold foam arranged on a beige countertop.

You can use a store-bought vanilla simple syrup, but I love using my homemade vanilla syrup. The recipe makes 3 cups, so you can make a lot of this vanilla sweet cream cold foam with a single batch of syrup.

You will also need a milk frother. You can buy hand frothers for less than $20 at Target, Walmart, Amazon, or most kitchen stores. They’re inexpensive, easy to use, and can be used for making this cold foam or frothing hot milk, too.

How to make it

To make your vanilla sweet cream cold foam, simply pour the ingredients into a glass measuring cup and froth them using your hand frother.

Since you’re making it yourself, you can control the thickness of the foam, so froth until it’s the way you personally like it.

Like steamed milk foam, this won’t hold up forever, so you will want to use it quickly.

If you want to make enough for 2 or 3 people, simply double or triple the ingredients. Just make sure you use a larger measuring cup when frothing it!

USES

I love adding this cold foam to the top of my morning iced coffee. Sometimes I even add a bit of brown sugar syrup for an extra-special treat.

You can also add it to the top of an iced shaken espresso.

Even cold coffee cocktails are made better with this cold foam. It would be amazing on top of an iced Irish coffee

But coffee drinks aren’t the only ones that can benefit from an addition of vanilla sweet cream cold foam. Make an iced chai using homemade chai concentrate, add the cold foam, cozy up with a vanilla bean scone, and enjoy your coffee-shop experience right from home.
